The “Smart-Ups” sessions, a novel way of introducing new learning solutions to the industry, will see the Classification Society’s Maritime Academy support learning efforts at people’s desks.
The first chance for the industry to “get smart” will be on April 20, 2016 when the inaugural Smart-Ups session will tackle Hull Performance Monitoring.
DNV GL say that each Smart-Ups will be led by a key expert in the relevant field and will be followed by an interactive Q&A session.
A series of ten Smart-Ups are being planned for coming months to introduce this new training format. The topics have been selected from various conferences and research projects in which DNV GL has been involved. Initial Smart-Up subjects include:
- All you need to know about Hull Optimisation – Past, present, future
- The new ISO standard on hull performance (ISO 19030)
- AIS (Automatic Identification Systems) – a hidden gem for business intelligence
- Anti-fouling: How it can save you money!
- Future Shipping: Smart for sure, unmanned maybe
DNV GL say that the first few dates will be free of charge.
