DNV GL – Maritime during COVID-19: In operation around the world

COVID-19

Press Release: At DNV GL we are working to make sure that we continue to deliver for you, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis. Our offices remain fully operational all around the world and our 12,000 colleagues remain on the job, either in the office, on location, or at home, to help keep your vessels and business running.

Safety first

Our first concern in these times, must be the health and welfare of our employees, customers and their families and loved ones. Therefore, we will always implement and comply with the most up to date recommendations from the relevant authorities.

Service delivery is uninterrupted – in person or remote

Throughout the world, our operations remain uninterrupted and we are continuing to deliver services. Your local contacts are still on the job and your local office is still reachable – please use our directory to find the contact number for your local DNV GL office.

Where possible, DNV GL will provide services to ships and sites in person, while observing all local restrictions. Where COVID-19 measures prevent this, we are ensuring delivery through remote working and remote survey.

Digital services are making the difference

Over the past few years, DNV GL has introduced many new digital technologies which have enabled us to deliver more efficiently and effectively. This is paying dividends during the COVID-19 crisis as we are able to maintain service continuity from our global network of Operational Centers.

At the core of this is your Fleet Status/My Services access via the Veracity platform. This is the hub for all of your digital certificates and notifications for your vessels or certificates. By using Smart Survey Booking (SSB), you can plan and prepare the optimal time and scope of your required survey. SSB can also propose an optimal package for your vessel’s survey.

During the crisis, we have helped customers stay on track using our Remote Survey service. With remote survey, our surveyors can support you anywhere in the world – without having to be there in person. Through documentation, images, video (streaming or recordings), and input provided by you and/or crew onboard we can complete many types of verifications and surveys online.

And with DNV GL’s Electronic certificates, which are available for all our customers, your certificate can be updated immediately and can be sent instantly wherever it is needed.

All our Fleet in Service customers can also use the DATE (Direct Access to Technical Experts) service. This gives you expert information and answers to your questions 24 hours a day and 7 days per week– with a reply within 1 workday, or even sooner if its urgent. With over 400 experts in dedicated teams in Singapore, Høvik, Hamburg, Piraeus and Houston, DATE covers all technical fields – you can ask them anything.

Reach DATE via My Services on Veracity or by emailing DATE@dnvgl.com.

Delivering today for the future

At DNV GL, we want you to know that throughout the crisis we will be doing our utmost to help you keep your vessels and business running.
