Dynacom Tankers Management is to receive GAS-PREPARED notation from Bureau Veritas for six of its Suezmax tankers that are under construction.
They are the first ship owner to future proof its vessels by applying for the notation.
The GAS-PREPARED notation sets out requirements for ships which are designed and fitted out for dual-fuel or liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel propulsion, but which are not initially intended to use gas as a fuel. This means that ship owners can convert to dual-fuel or complete use of LNG in the future if they choose to do so.
The ships are being built at New Times Shipbuilding in China, with delivery expected in 2017 and 2018.
