Ecochlor Completes All Testing for USCG BWTS Type Approval

Ecochlor, Inc. has announced that they expect to submit an application to the United States Coastguard (USCG) for the Type Approval of the Ecochlor Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) within the next month.

This follows the recent completion of the environmental testing of the EcoChlor BWTS.

Environmental testing was performed at the Retlif Testing Laboratories in New York, US.

Land-based and shipboard testing of the Ecochlor BWTS on the Golden Bear Facility (GBF) was completed in May of 2016.

“We have been very pleased with our association with Retlif laboratory and the results of the environmental testing for the Ecochlor BWTS. Our test results for the USCG Type Approval have been consistent with the IMO Type Approval results and I believe that shipowners will be assured of the validity and transparency of the test results that come with independent testing,” said Tom Perlich, Ecochlor founder and president.
