ECOSLOPS, the first company to develop technology to produce recycled marine fuels and light bitumen (XFO) from marine oil residues (known as slops), has announced the signing of a long-term XFO supply contract with SOPREMA, a provider of bituminous membranes.
ECOSLOPS’ technology enables these slops to be turned into new fuels and XFO using a micro-refining process to enable industry use for commercial products. The XFO is the heaviest cut produced from this process and has very good technical characteristics for the isolation industry.
This contract will enable SOPREMA to use the XFO for the isolation industry, such as for building and construction and will enable ECOSLOPS to anticipate the volume and price of approximately 30% of its total sales for several years.
Vincent Favier, CEO, ECOSLOPS, commented, “We have worked with SOPREMA since our first plant in the Port of Sinès opened, and the agreement of this contract marks a major step for ECOSLOPS. This partnership reflects not only the quality of our products, but also the trust that has been built between our companies.”
