The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Dutch bank ABN Amro are to invest EUR 150 million to finance sustainable projects and green technologies that will improve the environmental performance of the European shipping fleet.
- Framework agreement will be signed today. It is supported by the Connecting Europe Facility and made possible by European Fund for Strategic Investments.
- Promoters of sustainable maritime projects will benefit from favourable financial terms.
- Facility is open for both retrofitting existing ships and new projects that have a green innovation aspect.
