Emissions Analyser Gains Lloyd’s Register Certification

12 Nov

Procal’s Emissions Analyser, Procal 2000, has been certified by Lloyd’s Register. This certification provides assurance to ship owners and operators that the analyser can demonstrate compliance with regulations applicable in Emission Control Areas (ECA).

The analyser has been certified as compliant with international regulations, including the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) resolution MEPC.184(59) Guidelines for Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems and the IMO NOx Technical Code (2008) on the control of emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from marine diesel engines.

The Procal 2000 is an in-situ analyser which analyses exhaust gases from ship engines and boilers that can monitor up to six gasses simultaneously including sulphur dioxide (SO2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and NOx, and also water vapour content of the exhaust gas. Such measurements enable the ship operator to determine the pollutant levels on a wet and dry basis and report them to demonstrate compliance with ECA regulations.
