ESL Shipping has launched its latest liquefied natural gas-powered dry cargo vessel, Haaga.
- The vessel and its sister ship, Viikki, are the first LNG-powered handy-size bulk carriers in the world, according to ESL Shipping.
- Both vessels are 250,000 DWT and fulled by LNG to help cut emissions of CO2 by an estimated 50% compared with the previous versions, according to the company.
- Vessel was launched at the Jinling Shipyard, China and will begin operating in the Baltic Sea during the first half of 2018.
