Fincantieri has opted for Climeon’s heat power system to maximise energy efficiency onboard its new cruise ships.
Six Climeon Ocean 450M systems, each with 2.7MW power, have been chosen and will be installed by Fincantieri on its new cruise ships. Fincantieri is the first shipyard contracted to install Climeon Ocean on new cruise ships.
The heat power solution generates electricity using waste heat from the ship’s engines, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The configuration enables optimisation of heat and energy onboard ships, converting hot water into 100% clean electricity.
Delivery of the Climeon Ocean systems will begin in 2017.
