Fleet Xpress Update To Be Delivered At Smart Operations Singapore

Global mobile satellite communications giant Inmarsat are giving Singapore ship owners and operators the opportunity to gain vital insight into their Fleet Xpress service on May 12, 2016 during the Smart Operations Singapore forum.

The greatly anticipated Fleet Xpress service was officially launched into the maritime market on March 31, 2016.

The launch of the Global Xpress satellites into orbit in 2015 and Fleet Xpress service in 2016, according to Inmarsat, marks the start of new era that will see ‘smart’ ship operations become a reality.

It has been heralded as one the greatest changes to the world of maritime satellite communications capability for decades. Fleet Xpress combines the high data speeds of Ka-band with high reliability L-band service. As a fully integrated service, it switches automatically between Ka-band and L-band, ensuring an ‘always on’ guaranteed connection with a committed information rate.

Uniquely, Fleet Xpress can also empower third party application providers to enhance their existing services to maritime customers, and to develop a host of innovative new applications. This will include applications that drive ship efficiency, real-time ship performance monitoring and more.

Inmarsat’s presentation of Fleet Xpress during Smart Operations Singapore is not something to be missed by any owner or operator keen to understand the impact of this on their operations.

The full-day forum will look at how ship owners and operators can take best advantage of ship and shore communications to improve the bottom line within their business.

Forum participants will examine the opportunities, practical applications and infrastructure requirements that improve operations and streamline the business.

Smart Operations Singapore is the 9th event in the popular Smart Operations global event series. The highly-reputed series supports ship owners and operators in making business-critical, informed decisions for implementing the best data driven technologies and processes for their operations.

This full-day, free-to-attend event will take place at the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore.

Ron Vollenga, Inmarsat Maritime will join Rolls- Royce Marine, DNV GL, Gearbulk Singapore, Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, Dualog, Radio Holland Connect B.V., Tero Marine, Thome Ship Management and Synergy Marine Pte Ltd as a fellow expert speaker at the podium.
