Former V.Ships CEO Joins ShipServ Board Of Directors

Former V.Ships CEO, Donald Anderson has joined ShipServ’s Board of Directors as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

ShipServ, the leading marine and offshore e-marketplace, helps ship owners cut operational costs by helping them find the best suppliers easily, trade efficiently and build trusted relationships. ShipServ uses a matching engine that selects the best available suppliers based on the needs of the purchaser, using data and a ranking algorithm to provide structured information in a simple manner. This enables owners and operators to find information on suppliers with reviews on that supplier in order to facilitate informed procurement decisions.

CEO and founder of ShipServ, Paul Østergaard commented:“Donald has vast experience working for and advising the world’s leading ship management and marine services companies and we are absolutely delighted to tap into his broad and substantial knowledge. He will provide critical strategic advice in supporting the next phase of ShipServ’s growth and development strategy.”

Mr Anderson was previously Group CEO at V.Ships Group where he oversaw an ambitious growth phase and two private equity management buyouts. As an Advisor to the Board of Univan Ship Management, Mr Anderson played a central role in the recently announced merger with Anglo Eastern, creating one of the world’s leading ship management groups.

“I am delighted to join the board of ShipServ and help them in their future growth. They have been at the forefront of the digital revolution in shipping over the last 15 years and have helped change the marine procurement landscape by bringing down operating costs for shipowners and managers. I look forward to working with their innovative and very experienced management team in their quest to continue to grow and develop further”, stated Mr Anderson.

ShipServ has over 200 shipping companies and ship managers currently trading on its e-marketplace with 58,000 suppliers including leading ship management companies Anglo-Eastern, Columbia, Thome and Wilhelmsen Ship Management. It is estimated that ShipServ has an expected annual trade of US $3 billion in 2015.
