Greenland Heavylift Holdings is to integrate ABB’s OCTOPUS marine software platform to improve the safety and efficiency of four of its semi-submersible heavy lift vessels.
- OCTOPUS will take into account weather, loading data and hydrodynamic properties of the vessel to generate a tailored route for each voyage that will transport large cargoes such as oil rigs.
- Polar chart will map the safest and most efficient voyage route, allowing officers to continuously update speed and course.
- Sensors will also provide real-time roll and motion data to enhance onboard safety. Viewings from the bridge and ashore are possible.
