ICS issues new flag performance table

The International Chamber of Shipping has issued its annual flag state performance table.

Table provides annual overview of the performance of the world’s flag states against a number of criteria such as port state control records, ratification of international maritime Conventions and attendance at IMO meetings.
ICS says it issues the tables annually to promote an open dialogue between shipowners and operatorsd with their flag administrations.
Latest table excludes a negative-performance indicator in connection to lack of compliance with the United States ‘Qualship 21’ programme, however flag states that continue to qualify are given a positive indicator.
ICS recognises that an important development over the year has been the mandatory participation by flag states in the IMO Member State Audit scheme.
