An interview with the International Maritime Organization has given insight into the IMO’s efforts in tackling greenhouse gas emissions.
- Lee Adamson, Head of Media and Communications at IMO, spoke with CNN’s Eco Solutions television programme.
- He spoke of the IMO’s work in developing a mandatory data collection system for fuel consumption and the 0.5% global sulphur cap set for 2020.
- Adamson also said that by 2025 every new ship will have to be 30% more energy efficient than a ship built in 2014.
