Mitsui OSK line and NYK have teamed up with a number of other Japanese businesses to form a new blockchain coalition.
The consortium is one of a growing number of projects that are looking at the benefits that the shipping and maritime industries can discover by using distributed ledger technologies that form blockchain.
The Japanese consortium is comprised of 14 companies such as banking, insurance, total logistics providers and export/import businesses.

One of the focus areas of the new consortium will be the use of bloickchain rtechnoogy in the biull of lading and other ways to streamline the glow of trade information.
