Keppel Corp and Shell have entered into a shareholders’ agreement to provide bunkering of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the port of Singapore.
Each company will have an equal 50% share in the joint venture that aims to facilitate LNG operations in the port of Singapore and drive the development of LNG powered vessels. By 2020 Singapore aims to have all ships operating on LNG.
Singapore is currently the world’s leading fuel bunkering hub. With the development of LNG, the country will begin to issue bunker supply licenses to assist with its position as an LNG hub.
