Swiss manufacturer of energy storage solutions, Leclanché, has announced that its marine lithium-ion battery system has received type approval by DNV GL under its revised guidelines.
- The new guidelines by DNV GL were issued in October 2015.
- The 4.3MWh Marine Rack System (MRS) will be used on the E-ferry, a 100% electric ferry to be launched later this year.
- Leclanché tested the MRS under extreme conditions including fire propagation to ensure it that it will perform in such situations.
