MSC Cruises and ARTA have developed an LNG bunkering system for cruise ships.
- New coupling and decoupling mechanism and resistant double-walled hose will allow ARTA to transfer LNG to a ship from another vessel or shore facility, without impact to other activities onboard.
- Outcome follows one year of research into bunkering possibilities.
- MSC to expand LNG-powered ships by investing €9 billion for the construction of eleven vessels, four which will be fuelled by LNG.
