LNG De-Bunkering First At Port of Moerdijk

The first de-bunkering of a liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered inland waterway barge, the Greenstream, in the Dutch port of Moerdijk has successfully been carried out.

Greenstream was launched in 2013 and is the first barge operating in Northwest Europe to be powered by LNG.  The transfer of LNG occurred quickly and was required in order to prevent the barge returning to the shipyard with empty storage tanks.

The LNG was transferred into her sister Barge, the Green Rhine.
