LNG-fuelled aframax tankers to be built by HHI

Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, affiliate of Hyundai Heavy Industries is to build four liquefied natural gas powered ice-class IA aframax tankers.

  • 114,000 DWT tankers are the first to use LNG to reduce emissions of SOx, NOx and CO2.
  • 50% engine noise reductions will also be achieved.
  • Ships are scheduled to be delivered from the third quarter of 2018 and to be chartered to Shell.
