Crowley Maritime Corp and VT Halter Marine have launched Crowley’s liquefied natural gas fuelled combination container/roll on-roll off ship.
- El Coquí is part of Crowley’s US $550 million project to expand and modernise its services between Jacksonville, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Vessel will finalise topside construction and testing before beginning service under the US Jones Act during the second half of 2017.
- The company is also increasing services at both ports including the development of two, 1-million litre cryogenic tanks at its LNG bunkering facility at the Port of Jacksonville.
