Maersk Line has joined forces with BigOceanData for a two-year agreement that will see BigOceanData deliver vessel tracking services to the container shipping company.
BigOceanData is already in operation around the world on both desktop and mobile devices and will now work with Maersk to optimise vessel tracking, initially starting with the used of fused satellite and terrestrial data feeds to provide consistent position reports.
Maersk will then use this data to optimise its feet performance.
BigOceanData also provides environmental, navigational and security data which can be integrated into clients’ in-house systems to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
The two-year agreement aims to provide Maersk Line and BigOceanData with a secure two-way exchange of data.
The contract was awarded to BigOceanData by Maersk following its wide functionality ranges and interface that is expected to integrate well with Maersk’s own systems. Furthermore, it can combine multiple inputs within a single system to improve overall end-user experience, according to Maersk.
