Maersk Line And Borouge Commit To 15% CO2 Reduction

Maersk Line and plastic solutions provider Borouge have signed a Carbon Pact as part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, that commits to the reduction of Borouge’s CO2 emissions from its ocean transportation with Maersk Line by 15% from 2016 to 2020.

The Carbon Pact also demands that Borouge creates environmental transparency around the environmental impact of their supply chain.  A major part of this business partnership will also be the development of tools and practices for integrating CO2 and other sustainability indicators into this relationship.

As well as being the first plastics solutions provider in the Middle East to sign the Carbon Pact with Maersk Line, the agreement will also enable Borouge to deliver its products globally, while maintaining the lowest possible environmental footprint.
