Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) has announced that the “MOL Group Safety, Environmental and Social Report 2015” received the Award of Merit in Environmental Report section at the 19th Environmental Communication Awards.
The Environmental Communication Awards are designed to promote environmental management and communication & disclosure of information by awarding excellent environmental reports and environmental activity reporting.
MOL’s report earned high marks for its technology descriptions that are intended to reduce the environmental impact of MOL business. The compliance structure and integrated approach to reporting was also praised.
This marks the second consecutive year the report has won the excellence award in this category. MOL’s business activities focus on safe operation, environmental conservation, governance and human resource development.
In addition, the company has been recognised for its proactive disclosure of information in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) in order to gain stakeholder trust.
