A representative of Damen has advised that if ship-owners want to reduce ballast water treatment system (BWTS) installation fees they should spend more time in the preparatory stage.
According to Stef Loffeld, the manager of projects and engineering for Damen Green Solutions the preparatory stage is approximately 10-12 months in length.
He concluded his presentation at the forum by saying “preparation is everything.”
