Mozambique pushes forward with LNG plans

The Government of Mozambique has finalised  two agreements with Texas-based Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, which will see the latter design, build, and operate the marine facilities for an LNG project in northern Mozambique.

  • These agreements, known as the marine concessions will facilitate the construction of an LNG plant in Mozambique.
  • The onshore LNG plant, being developed by Anadarko, will consist of two initial LNG trains with a capacity of 12m tonnes per annum.
  • The agreement will support Mozambique’s offshore fields that are being developed as part of the Mozambique LNG project to supply 100m cubic feet of LNG a day to the onshore facility.
