Kongsberg Maritime has developed a new Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification application for its Maritime K-Fleet suite of Marine Fleet Management Software.
- The K-fleet MRV solution will help ships meet the regulation by monitoring and reporting CO2 emissions on a per voyage basis.
- The software will reduce the burden on crew by automatically collecting all data from onboard sensors and manual entries so that the master can verify events before reports are sent to the shore-office.
- The MRV regulation entered into force in July 2015 but will take full effect from January 1, 2018.
- It will require ships exceeding 5,000 gross tonnes using EU ports to report their verified annual emissions.
