NAPA and Furuno have announced an ongoing partnership to integrate their solutions in order to support the digital migration of the global maritime fleet.
NAPA Performance Monitoring and NAPA Logbook software have been integrated into Furuno’s hardware to offer a data logging and reporting solution that uses data signals already present onboard. Furuno’s existing hardware and satellite communication solutions will be used to help streamline data-driven operations by boosting ship performance, shore operations and crew productivity.
Electronic data collection and analytics will be provided with easy to read and accurate reporting that will be available to management teams on shore. There will also be high class security through cloud storage. NAPA and Furuno will also support ship owners, operators and managers in meeting requirements such as the EU’s Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) legislation and assist with safe reporting and engine and waste logs.
The overall aim of the partnership is to help ship owners move forward in an era of big data and The Internet of Things (IoT) and to facilitate more efficient ship to shore communications.
Muneyuki Koike, Senior Managing Director, FURUNO commented: “NAPA delivers excellent data collection, analysis and control solutions for the maritime industry. We are confident that the combination of NAPA’s Shipping Solutions and FURUNO’s expertise in navigation and communication equipment with its worldwide service network will create very powerful synergy, and we are looking forward to an exciting growth of the partnership within the maritime IoT world.”
