High-speed broadband provider, SpeedCast International, has entered into a strategic partnership with Inmarsat to provide enhanced connectivity to the global maritime industry through Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress over the next five years.
The partnership will enable Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress service, which is powered by the Global Xpress (GX) network, to be fully integrated with SpeedCast’s existing maritime SIGMA gateway and other Value Added Services. During this five year time period, SpeedCast aims roll out Fleet Xpress to approximately 2,000 vessels.
The CEO of Inmarsat, Rupert Pearce says that through this partnership the two companies will work together to deliver the “Connected Ship.
