New Ship Performance Software Enters Market

A danish engineering and software company has developed a fleet management system that monitors and analyses the factors that influence ship performance.

Logimatic’s SERTICA aims to reduce the total cost of ownership by managing performance to enable fuel savings as well as emissions reductions.  Specifics such as hull form and machinery can be monitored and analysed through tailored modules that store and synchronise data between fleets and company offices. Offline data management is possible as is integration with external systems.

The entire SERTICA Product Suite includes Maintenance, Performance, Procurement and HSQE (health, safety, quality and environment). In order to adapt to changing conditions and to remain competitive within the market, SERTICA can be tailored to meet the individual company’s needs.  This means that the customer can choose how many areas and modules are to be included in the final installed software.

The data is presented in graphs and user-friendly dashboards to indicate to ship operators which trends need to be acted upon.

Allan H. Rasmussen, Senior Consultant at Logimatic, commented: “Managing performance is much more than reducing fuel consumption.  Forget about best practice; companies need to be one step ahead and act on leading indicators – an approach that we call ‘new practice’ and that we believe makes SERTICA the best solution on the market.”
