New Weather Forecasting Service Launched

Dryad Maritime has announced the release of its brand-new scalable, managed weather forecasting service for ships and fleets.

“WxConnect” was designed and developed by Dryad’s in-house teams and World Meteorological Organisation accredited meteorologists.

Dryad’s WxConnect provides a flexible weather support, monitoring and advisory service for ships’ masters, helping them mitigate the risks of their transits. The company says that all weather forecasts are delivered in simple, easy to understand digital formats.

By delivering this service, Dryad states that they are continuing their commitment to help their clients improve operational performance, reduce risk and drive efficiency and the provision of SOLAS, whilst reducing overheads and carbon emissions.

It will be offered alongside Dryad’s award-winning Vessel Safety Management service. In order to provide greater flexibility to clients, the forecasting tool will be offered with no subscription fee, no installation requirements and as a ‘Pay As You Go’ service, to further drive down costs for users.

Key features of the WxConnect service include:

  • A Pay-As-You-Go service with zero subscription fees.
  • Clear, concise and consistent weather forecasts.
  • A fully scalable service that covers various factors, for example from basic weather routing to dynamic voyage optimisation
  • Uses the latest meteorological and oceanographic data available.
  • Uses geo-fenced tracking and 24/7 support from manned operations centre in the UK.
