Danish shipping company Dampskibsselskabet “NORDEN” A/S (NORDEN) is to roll out Kongsberg Maritime’s new fleet and vessel management functionality across its fleet and shore offices.
The software, which was developed by Kongsberg in conjunction with NORDEN, is designed to provide information sharing and standardisation within an organisation to develop a knowledge base for any type of management within the industry.
Originally marketed as ‘C-Experience’, the software was released in 2006 and has been upgraded to the latest 4.1 version in order to integrate more Q&A functions into the Experience information sharing module, helping it to meet the demands of the global dry bulk and product tanker markets. Today the software includes upgrades to vessel and shore based modules covering maintenance such as type approval plans, on board system for spare parts inventory and ordering, budget and cost control and summary reporting installed across the fleet and on shore.
Additionally, a Budget Control System with budget and voucher management, summary reporting and the purchase procurement system for order and supply management is installed in land offices.
The software can also be used to report incidents and follow ups on various inspections such as vetting and port state controls.
NORDEN states that the updates to the Experience information application will enable higher collaboration between vessels and the shore to enhance operational efficiency.
