Tuomas Riski, CEO of Norsepower, the developers of the Rotor Sail Solution, has won Nor-Shipping’s Young Entrepreneur Award 2017.
- The technology consists of a spinning wind-powered cylinder that harnesses wind energy for ship propulsion. It is a modernised version of the Flettner rotor.
- According to Norsepower, it can deliver fuel and emissions savings up to 20%.
- Young Entrepreneur Award recognises innovators under 40 that are working to address critical industry issues such as increasing costs and environmental constraints.
