The world’s first electrochlorination (EC) BWTS has received Type Approval from the United States Coast Guard.
- The certification means that a USCG Type Approved system is now available for medium and large vessels like LR1s, VLCCs, and large gas carriers.
- The system can treat water capacities between 1,500 and 7,200m3/h.
- The USCG testing has been carried out with OceanSaver’s existing MKII system without significant modifications. The MKII system has been through more than 60 tests.
- OceanSaver has stated that it can offer financing packages together with Norwegian financing institutions to help support ship owners in meeting regulations.
