Two NYK-operated vessels have received Panama Canal Authority’s Green Connection award, which recognises vessels that demonstrate excellent environmental stewardship.
- The Garnet Leader, a pure car and truck carrier, and the NYK Remus, a containership both received the award.
- Panama Canal customers that meet and exceed environmental standards set by the IMO, or other globally recognised standards, are considered for the award.
- The award is part of Panama’s Green Connection Environmental Recognition Programme to give advantages to ships that reduce the environmental impact of their operations, based on their Environmental Ship Index score.
