The Port of Rotterdam Authority has signed a declaration of intent with PitPoint.LNG to facilitate investigation into the development of a new multi-fuel bunkering station at the port.
- Bunkering station will provide liquefied natural gas and potentially other cleaner fuels such as hydrogen, electric power, and bio-diesel for the marine industry.
- The anticipated location is the Duivelseiland in Dordrecht, which lies at the heart of the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp shipping area and is the starting point for many ships heading towards Germany.
- LNG and the Port of Rotterdam Authority will talk to potential customers, partners and suppliers to look at how the bunkering station can meet the supply and demand of cleaner fuels.
