Port State Control Regime Pair Agree to Step up Sulphur Inspections

Both the Paris MOU and Tokyo MOU, two major Port State Control regimes, have agreed to action a Concentrated Inspection Campaign in 2018, the focus being ship compliance with sulphur limits.

A Concentrated Inspection Campaign means that all 45 countries covered by the Port State Control regimes, across 5 continents, must carry out especially thorough examination, in this case on sulphur limit compliance, when their Port State Control Officers embark foreign ships.

The campaign for 2018 is the result of efforts made by Denmark to ensure enhanced international focus on enforcement.
