Press Release: CORE event will show how trusted and transparent supply chains are becoming a reality

PRESS RELEASE: CORE, the four-year €50 million European research project in which 70 partners collaborated to create trusted and transparent trade lanes, will be brought to a close in Brussels on 11 April 2018.  Its mission has been to find new ways to enhance the speed, reliability, and efficiency of global supply chains, while safeguarding security and improving compliance.

The final CORE event will bring together shippers, freight forwarders, transport providers, and authorities to demonstrate how the project’s concepts are driving a global supply chain revolution in this challenging era for customs organisations and companies alike.

Breakthroughs include:

  • The CORE data pipeline – helping to keep goods flowing smoothly despite an exponential increase in customs declarations and other border formalities with the growth of international trade and e-commerce, and upcoming Brexit complications.
  • Low-intrusive scanning and system-based supervision – delivering seamless interoperability and end-to-end visibility.

The project’s results will be showcased at the final CORE event, hosted by The European Shippers Council and CLECAT in the Stanhope Hotel, Brussels.

Living lab presentations at the event will include:

  • Real-time management of complex supply chains (P&G)

How additional visibility and security are driving supply chain resilience and agility, reducing environmental impact, and adding value to commercial organisations and governments.

  • Data pipelines: driving a global supply chain revolution (Flora Holland/Dutch Customs)

Paving the way for green lanes through better access to detailed shipment information and documentation to improve supply chain reliability, efficiency, and risk analysis.

  • Blueprint for a trusted trade lane (Seacon Logistics)

Roll-out plans for a data pipeline that allows the seamless flow of information between all supply chain stakeholders.

  • Global trade digitisation: the future of trade data exchange (IBM-Maersk)
