PRESS RELEASE: Corvus Energy is pleased to announce that it has achieved ISO 14001:2015 certification for its Environmental Management System and Processes in its operations in Bergen, Norway. Certification in its Richmond, BC, Canada offices was achieved in March 2018. The scope of the ISO 14001 certification includes the environmental aspects of Corvus’ design, manufacturing and service of products that Corvus can either directly control or influence considering the life cycle perspective of lithium-ion based energy storage systems (ESS).
“Corvus is committed to producing the industry’s leading energy storage systems in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner,” stated Abbas Zenouz, QHSE Director at Corvus Energy. “The ISO 14001 certification in both of our facilities, combined with our ISO 9001 certification, demonstrates we are leading this industry in both product quality and environmental sustainability.”
Zenouz added: “Environmental impact has become an increasingly important consideration for our customers, as local and global environmental issues bring progressively restrictive rules affecting air, water and soil pollution. The Corvus Energy ISO 14001 certification allows Corvus access to markets and customers where consideration of environmental impact is part of the qualification process.”
The purpose of the ISO 14001 standard is to provide organizations with a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions in balance with socio-economic needs.
As the leading manufacturer of energy storage systems for maritime applications, Corvus offers the innovative Orca ESS solutions portfolio and has unsurpassed experience from 170+ projects, totalling over 120MWh and 2 million operating hours.
