Qatar Petroleum’s Wave LNG Solutions and Shell Gas & Power Developments have signed a framework agreement to develop liquefied natural gas bunkering infrastructure at global locations.
- Demsnd for LNG may reach up to 50 million tonnes per annum by 2030 according to Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar Petroleum’s President and CEO.
- LNG will be used to meet tougher emissions regulations as the 2020 0.5% global sulphur cap sets in.
- Shell and Qatargas signed two MOUs in 2016 with other industry partners to explore LNG bunkering options.
