Captain Warwick Norman is to step down from CEO of Rightship after 16 years.
Mr Norman will stay on as a strategic consultant and oversee the transition of the new CEO, yet to be decided.
Since its inception in 2001, Captain Norman has led Rightship to become a global organisation in maritime safety and risk assessment.
Captain Norman will now continue work to enhance seafarer safety, welfare and environmental sustainability and remain at hand to provide leadership within Rightship.
Commenting on his decision, Norman said: “I have had the privilege of serving as CEO of RightShip for more than a decade and a half. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and am proud of all that we have achieved. But I felt it was time for a change, and with the board’s agreement, decided that I will step back and let another lead the charge at RightShip.”
RightShip Chairman and Cargill Ocean Transportation Asia Pacific Lead, Andrew Barker, added: “Warwick has made an unparalleled contribution to the extraordinary success of RightShip. Together with my colleagues on the board, I would like to thank him for his dedication, commitment and sheer hard work. We are sad to see him step aside but respect his decision and are grateful that he has agreed to stay on as a strategic consultant to the management and board at RightShip.”
