Satlink Satellite Communications Ltd, a provider of satellite communication and technical services, has linked up with Inmarsat in order to supply Fleet Xpress and FleetBroadband.
Through the partnership, Satlink’s solutions will be integrated with Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress service to deliver a range of services including Satlink’s in-house developed Satbox and Tracklite.
The requirements for on-board bandwidth are constantly growing throughout the commercial maritime fleets.
The satellite communication industry has had to make significant development in order meet the unique challenges of ship-to-shore communications.
Fleet Xpress is the newly launched service from Inmarsat which delivers high data speeds using Inmarsat’s Global Xpress Ka-band technology while FleetBroadband is an L-band service that enhances communications by providing voice and broadband data coverage.
Gerbrand Schalkwijk, Chief Sales Officer, Inmarsat Maritime commented: “We believe that the launch of Fleet Xpress will set a new standard in maritime communications and are investing to ensure we have the global reach and expertise of a dedicated partner network to drive market adoption”.
