Speaking at Fathom Maritime Intelligence’s Smart Operations event in Cyprus today, the Vice President of Sales at Norwegian software developing company Tero Marine stressed that when it comes to data, garbage in = garbage out.
Erik Staubo’s message to delegates was that the input of better quality data gives ship owners better information that is better to use as an output.
He also said, when talking on the subject of utilising data for commercial management, that making software systems simple to use is essential.
The managing Director of Tero Marine, Jan Erik Harvei has also stressed at previous Smart Operations events that better data quality input is also reliant on adequate crew training.
