Singapore LNG Corporation has performed its first small-scale liquefied natural gas reload and gas-up/cool-down at its terminal on Jurong Island, southwest of the main island of Singapore.
- Operation was carried out on the newbuild LNG bunker vessel, 6,500m3 Cardissa, owned by Shell and co-financed by the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility.
- Completion demonstrates growing ability to supply LNG for the region. Terminal can break LNG cargoes into smaller parcels and deliver in small volumes to other terminals or be used to bunker ships in port.
- Singapore LNG Corporation is looking to modify the jetty to accommodate LNG vessels as small as 2,000m3 by 2019.
