Singapore to focus research on autonomous ships

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has renewed its memorandum of understanding with DNV GL to include autonomous systems and intelligent shipping.

  • MoU will promote research and development in autonomous ships, drones and data to enhance safety.
  • It will examine potential environmental gains to be made through energy saving infrastructure and processes in ports.
  • Research into LNG and leaderships forums to promote green shipping will also take place.
  • MoU extends current collaboration for another three years.
