Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group will install Optimarin’s Ballast System (OBS) on nine of its Anchor Handling Tugs (AHTS).
The state of the art tugs have been designed to operate in the Arabian Gulf, where shallow waters, high temperatures, salinities and humidity can create challenges for ships and their equipment. Optimarin’s OBS was chosen to match as it is a modular system, ensuring ease of installation where space is limited and flexible and reliable operation.
The nine AHTS’ will be operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company subsidiary ESNAAD and are due for delivery before the end of 2017.
