Sirius Shipping and Bernhard Schulte choose Høglund for marine automation systems

Norwegian marine automation company Høglund Marine Automation has signed contracts with both Bernhard Schulte and Sirius Shipping to supply automation systems to assist with vessel control tasks.

  • Systems will be provided to one liquefied natural gas bunker vessel operated by Bernhard Schulte and two chemical tankers for Sirius Shipping.
  • Automation is more complex on LNG bunkering ships according to Høglund because of the additional interfaces between the gas plant and the rest of the ship that exist.
  • Automation systems on Sirius Shipping’s tankers will link the power management systems to the cargo system, which ae usually separate. Integrating the two will make offloading operations more efficient and require fewer generators says Høglund.
