Technology company Ecoslops, which uses hydrocarbon residues from ships and turns them into fuels and light bitumen, has signed a letter of intent with a subsidiary of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
- A feasibility study will be carried out to look into the creation of an oil residue collection and recycling plant in the Suez Canal.
- Slops collection and recovery services will be identified and the potential for installation and use by ships passing through the Suez Canal will be explored.
- Ecoslops will oversee the management of the project, which Egyptian authorities hope will lead to the provision of increased services for ships through the canal.
