The assembly of the hull of Tallink’s new liquefied natural gas (LNG) fast ferry, Megastar, has begun.
The LNG ferry will feature a new hull, designed by Meyer Turku, and a new architecture, as well as having the ability to operate on marine diesel oil (MDO) and well as LNG. The ship has been in design for over a year and is the first LNG ship with upgrades in so many areas.
The 49,000 GT Megastar will have a service speed of 27 knots and is due to start operating on the Tallinn-Helsinki route from the beginning of 2017.
