Tank terminal in development at the Port of Rotterdam

HES International is developing a tank terminal for the storage and transhipment of petroleum products and biofuels at the Hartelstrook at Maasvlakte, Rotterdam.

  • According to the port, the terminal will help others to see Rotterdam as a strategic location and therefore concentrate activities here, increasing efficiency and reducing footprint.
  • BP has committed to the project with a multi-year contract to increase its activities in Rotterdam.
  • The 27-hectare site will include 52 tanks with a capacity of 1.3 million metres3 and a quay to accommodate three large or five smaller seagoing vessels. Nine berths will also be available in the Hudson harbour for barges.
